Fischer said: “I haven’t heard that Russell will apply to leave the team. I haven’t seen any signs and I don’t believe he is unhappy in Minnesota, but as the trade deadline approaches, his name will definitely appear in the trading rumors.”
Krawczynsk said: “Timberwolves and Russell’s agents have discussed the renewal issue intermittently since summer, but they have not reached an agreement on matters that both sides are satisfied.”
Russell’s salary this season is 31.38 million, and he will become a complete free agent after the end of this season.
