Yesterday, the Lakers vs Lone Ranger played a very controversial goal. Hardaway sealed little Troy Brown at the last moment. The referee’s report insisted on the referee’s statement yesterday-little Hardaway was a “high-five” contact, didn’t foul little Troy Brown.

NBA officials have explained this “high-five” contact. Let’s take a look at it:

After the shooter releases the ball:

Contact with the shooter’s hand (a “high five”) during the shooter’s follow-thru is legal, provided that the contact is incidental and not, for example, hostile or overly physical.

Contact with the shooter’s arm or wrist during the shooter’s follow-thru is considered illegal if the contact prevents the shooter from following-thru naturally.

If, however, incidental contact occurs after the shooter has been given sufficient room to follow-thru, no foul call will be made.

It means:

In the coherent action (follow-thru, which is probably the whole natural action of pressing the wrist to put down the arm after shooting), if the contact between the defender and the shooter’s palm is slight, then this contact is legal. But if this contact is hostile or excessive, it will not work.

In the coherent action after the player’s shot, if the contact between the defender and the shooter’s wrist & arm affects the coherent action after the shot, the contact will be judged as foul.

When the player has been given enough space to complete the subsequent coherent action after shooting, some slight contact will not be blown.

It can be seen that this rule contains some “subjective judgment” parts, and different people will have different acceptance of “slight……

Back to yesterday’s ball, let’s take a look with the rules:

1. Where did Hardaway hit Brown? Palm? Arm? Wrist?

2. Is Brown given enough space to complete subsequent coherent movements after shooting?

3. Is Hadaway’s last physical contact slight?

I believe that after these thoughts and judgments, I believe that you will have your own punishment for this action.

Finally, let’s vote ~
